Might it be SPRIG? Brads and sprigs are both headless nails, but I don't see anything else.

Sprig, it means all of those - a child, a spike/flower and brad.

You're welcome. According to Chamber, sprig can be ' a scion, a young person (usually disparagingly' - I don't think I've ever seen or heard the word used!
