I think that the answer to 43A Avoid someone by cunning (4, 7, 3, 4) is GIVE SOMEONE THE SLIP

This fits all the letters but the word "someone" is already in the clue. Have you any comments?

I feel you have to take the Concise Jumbo for what it is, straight clues to straight answers - so no real attempt at wordplay like a cryptic crossword would have.

My concern arises because I understood that The Times try to avoid using the same word in the clue and the answer, even for straight clues.
