I've not really enjoyed this - it seemed like hard work. I've ground to a halt with two crossing ones in the SW unsolved. Any hints, please?

I can find several "states" for the first one, but can't see a parsing for any. No idea on the second.

I have a possibility with dollar giving the first syllable, but it's only a spa town - is there a city with that name elsewhere?

The cities all have something in common. This one includes a slang term for "money"
