Limburger cheese reminds me of a story told by one of the Four Pennies (the Blackburn folk group from the 60s). They were on tour in Nottingham, sharing two rooms as usual. One bought a piece of Limburger. His room mate said "You're not keeping that in the room", so he put it on the outside windowsill. When they checked out, he forgot it.


When they revisited Nottingham the following year, the hotel had been demolished!

Just remembered - it was The Spinners, not the Four Pennies (not that it matters, really)
