Cryptic: Quietly resting when working to and fro
Quick: Working steadily

Really stuck on these last two - any help gratefully received!

8d could it be SECONDLY time = second
LY - empty lorry

2nd one PLYING

Of course, rl, it is secondly - well done! I had an s instead of an e which was incorrect as 16 across is DISCOUNTSTORES not DISCOUNTSHOPS.

Joker - I see - the 'LYING' part of 'PLYING' is the quietly resting part?

Very often when "quiet,or quietly"is in a crossword then this can be substituted by the letter"p".
