Ah....I see my initial post isn't entirely clear uncle_w, the wrong uns in"MICIPROCTA" are the first two M and I, and the last two, T and A.

Thanks again ixion. I think I've seen my error where I had the 'M'. I now have a 'K'. Still working on the last two.

I'd always thought that Araucaria's grid of undefined 7-letter Shakespearean characters (who knew there were so many of them?) was the hardest Genius puzzle by far. Not no more.

Themed clue , so no defn and an extra letter in the wordplay:
12a Very drunk, hearty drinker is one farthing short (6) the answer is quaver but how does it parse please ..and extra letter? R? F?

12a A word for a heavy drinker, minus F.
Drunk is the containment indicator for an abbreviation of very.

Extra letter is also F
