I have filled the grid and identified two of the four letters omitted from the wordplay of four clues.
I have M (4a) & D (35a).
Can anyone please point to the other 2 clues with missing letters?

Whoops - I didn't see the preamble! What did it say? I've just sent in the completed grid! Sorry I can't be any help.

There was an M on 1d, M on 4 ac, C on 16 d, and D on 35 ac. I didn't put them in anywhere, however.But why appropriate? Or am I being dim?

Sorry Sudokulover - forgot yur query. It said:- "Though definition parts of clues are normal, four appropriate letters are omitted from wordplay of four clues"
