I'm not so happy this week. All normally clued solutions found and entered, and the 5 word unclued phrase found, and even the Brewer's reference and quotation. However, struggling for synonyms of 1 down (the most obvious foreign-language word which fits the bill).
My unclued entries, which should be described by 12ac, 22dn, 41ac are as follows
16dn ?EKEL
23dn ?ENE?EN?
26dn ?PH?RS?N

I've no idea where to go from here.

It is a phrase that has to do with the theme.
The foreign language is uncommon for most of us.

The phrase is organized 23d, 16d, 26d.

4,4,5,8.

First letter is M. 26d begins with U.

Turast, did you look at the entry (for the phrase, involving W.....) in Brewer's? The unclued answers are there.

Thanks Malone. I have it now. I didn't think of searching elsewhere in Brewer's. It isn't something I would have known offhand.

Glad you got there, Turast. I might have looked up the longer entry before the shorter one, or maybe I was being thorough - I now can't remember!

I have a full grid apart from completing the third word of the 7 word sentence ?a?e. It’s not in my Brewers. Is it hate? Many thanks if you can help.

Marca, is your Brewer's an old edition? The sentence is definitely in mine, the 19th.

Malone, it’s old. Published in 1981, its called “the new and revised edition “!!
Maybe I should invest in a newer one.
