I would have finished earlier if I hadn't assumed that each clue, despite having bits moved backwards or forwards, still contained a definition and word play.

I'm not sure how 18d works and it seems to me that the definition for 22d does not have a misprint, unless sailor becomes sailer (someone who sails rather than a member of the navy).

Still struggling to finish this - but I can help a little with 18d.
The def is 'stays in the south' with a misprint in one of those words.
The answer is entered at 18d, too.

'Sailor in the past' has a misprint in the last word.

I'm still starting out on this one, and am not sure where I should enter answers. For instance, with regard to 28 A, " Goddess beginning to excuse Argentina imprisoning informer", should I enter the Definition of the answer in the slot for 28, or in 27 ?
Thanks in advance for any help.

Hi samovar, it's not possible in many cases to tell what belongs where until you start entering a few answers. The definition in 28A 'Goddess' links to one of the two wordplays in 27A and the answer goes in 27A.

Maybe I should have asked "do I enter the answer in the slot for the clue which has the definition, or the clue which has the wordplay?"
Thanks.

Thank you very much, Muraria. Please ignore my last post which I wrote before seeing your answer.

If anyone still has their copy, I would really appreciate some help with a few clues. (The wordplay and definition are split between one or two consecutive clues, and there is a misprint in the definition of Down clues. 1Ac follows 32D and the numbers of letters are for their location.)

32D some paper jamming data transmission (4)
1A Imagined knocking Lambert of agitated camel (6)
6A Lethal drink overcomes head's aide (6)
10A Command inspector of satellite. (6)

And if anyone remembers the answer for "Sailor in the past" I'd be very grateful for a nudge there too!
Thanks.

32d has wp for 1a
1a has its own def and wp for 31d
6a has wp for itself and def for 32d
10a has def for itself and def for 6a

Sailor in the *ast
