1d Is one better to ignore parking accident in northern England? (9)

4ac Looks to arrest one showing stupid behaviour
(9) ??????is?

1 d is not a common word. Another word for "better" is "punter". Play around with that.
And for 4ac, think of some words for "looks".

I'm afraid it's no to both.I don't think it's fair so early to give you the full answer. If I were just starting to solve Mephisto I'd be quite put out to see the answers displayed so early. This is really quite a straightforward

I appreciate that if you are in a different time zone you've probably spent a good few hours more on this puzzle than us Brits.
We are willing to help but , as AJT said, it is only the first morning of a crossword only due in a weeks time.
I don't think AJT meant to mislead you but the letters you have for 4a are correct.
