24d had me for a while as I could see the Parse but not the Def.
Now I know what a Cardinal mark is.

And 29a is a beautiful Parse, But I am lacking where the Def is ???
Any help with that one please.

Last two words, shooty - the other name your are thinking of was derived from that.

It would have made sense to me if it had ended with 'UM' But obviously cannnot because of the crosser from 27d and the parse of course.

The "um" ending would just be the noun, not the adjective, I think.

I just punched it into my online dictionary.
Well I never (jaw hit the ground) It was the first definition that came up.
I truely thought the only def would be an inhabitant.

Gob smacked beyound belief at my ignorance.
