I have intermezzo for this but can anyone parse it for me?

You haven't given the clue... but there's been previous discussion about this. I think it's regarded as a rather unsatisfactory clue!

so sorry Malone. the clue is: "What's played during break time, not during school holidays? (10) as I said I have "intermezzo" I don't get the e, o and two z's.

I have not found a parsing for the answer anywhere - yet it is correct
in that it goes with all the crossers and fits the definition:
I wish someone would explain!

hello pigale. "I wish someone would explain!" me too. I've been solving (trying) for many years and can usually find a logical solution to most of the clues. this one has be baffled. I wonder if the setter knows.
