Girl of eight with mac (8)
Explanation? To do with magic roundabout?? Where does the mac fit in???

"eight" + "mac" gives an anagram of "the magic" I.e. "the magic" roundabout :-)

Col seems too obvious for column and I can’t see a “letter” link. Are my letters right?

Hi Stevie - I agree there were a few 'iffier than usual' ones today. I've finished but can't parse these:

20A - Conifer once chopped? (3) F?R FIR
24D - Letter column (3) C?L. COL

Conifer - once = fir. You may kick yourself now. ;-)

20A Remove "once" from "conifers" and you're left with "fir"
24D Double def. Abbreviation for both "column" and Letter to the Colossians

Col is also abbreviation for Colossians ( letter to the). Need to swot up our New Testament as well as childrens' tv!
