I need assistance parsing these, please:-
5 Across - "European - rings no one!" (D-N-S-) surely DANISH?
10 Across - "Scotsman hearing a painter" (M-N-T) reckon this to be MONET, rather then MANET, because of the "MON" bit.
20 Across - "Friend back around may cut in" (A-I-O) surely AMIGO?
21 Across - "This many homes (part of old city)" (S-D-M) surely SODOM?
23 Across - "Outstanding wedding day for a single engineer" (-N-O-E) probably UNDONE, but not definite.

23 Across - "Outstanding wedding day for a single engineer

Undone = outstanding

Wedding = union
Swap D(ay) for 1 (a single)

Giving Undon and add E for engineer.

20 Across - "Friend back around may cut in"

Amigo

Back = Ago
(IE. Some time back or some time ago)

Put Ago round M (ay) + I (n) cut

Hi all,

10 Across is MONET - `MON` is Scots word for man and `ET` sounds like `a` heard.
