Has everyone sussed what to do today? The preamble mystifies me, and I think I must have some “wrong” additional letters as I can’t make out much to help me.
Anyone able or willing to help?

Thank you. I had thought that when I saw Constable...now a bit more hard work needed here...

I've got 90% of the clues but as usual managed some of them without figuring out the surplus letter.

I've got 13a as chadar but that leaves me with a 1d that I cannot solve. And I dont have 17a unless it is arms which I cannot quite parse. Likewise apathy fits 24a but I cannot see why. Is there a word for cloak that includes "apa"?

For 24 A, Capa is a cloak.
