I've lost the thread and am lost for ideas concerning the possible quotation. Apparently not many posts - have most solvers completed it ? Is the quotation in a reference book ? Without a hint I am lost as well as the thread. Only a couple of unfilled lights left.

The quote is "Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse."

I'd have given you the requested hint, Truron, but I didn't see the thread until now!

Many thanks for the last two helpful posts. I would have acknowledged sooner but was delayed by a hospital appointment. All lights now completed but a couple of triplets to find. A very interesting puzzle this year.....a happy 2018 to all solvers
