At least I managed to finish it witha bitof help from the forum.
But I'm stuck on this one. Spiral has finished so I've an hour before bed. Can you give me any hints for 18ac and 25ac?
I have ???E???L?? For 18ac and ??? ?I???A for 25ac, but I'm notsure about the a.

18 Third letter is C - first part 'to pitch. as in a boat

24 Ends in S - Abb for Queens ends the first word and starts the seond

That got me the play in 25ac, which in turn led to15d and then 18 ac. I just need to google some 24downs now. But must go to bed

I finished it this morning on the telephone with a friend of mine. We both agreed it was a hard one and couldn't parse all the answers. Let's hope we have a more straightforward one next week.
