I wonder if this is from the same paper as the one I helped with yesterday? The answer then was 'sago', hidden in the clue. It'd be quite disappointing if the same device/idea was used again the following day!

Hi Malone, that clue was in Thursdays Daily Star. You get a lot of clues like this. I try and do it every day, but I have a lot of help from the forum.

Thanks, Ollyblue. I had no idea which papers, how many papers, feature an Alpha Puzzle. It's good to know that it wasn't a lazy setter doing the same thing (four-letter word, hidden in the clue) two days in a row!
