HADJ (HAJ,HAJJ etc.) is the pilgrimage to Mecca

OR - "other ranks" or "men" (watch out for this one - common in crosswords)

yes hadj is the pilgrimage ...reverse it (west to eas) and lose the d(day off)

OR is an abbrev for Other Ranks / men /soldiers

Men = OR (other ranks)

Then reverse it
