Unusually I was on Imogen's wavelength today, so it didn't take long (and was much more amusing than I generally find him (sic)). However there is one that I can't parse - any hints? (I won't give the letters, to avoid spoiling):

23a He takes a risk, flipping over side of ulcer (7)

My definition is "He takes a risk"

Morning Chrise.

Take the last two letters of your answer and swap them around.

This will make another word that will make sense when you look it up.

I raced through most of this but got stuck on four in NE corner. Could I have a couple of hints for two?

10D Dishonest sympathiser, new in gig, with something on the drums (7,5) I have ..T.E.N/ .R.L.
6D A white stair rail is put up not black (7) I have R.....A.
Thanks

THanks, Chrise. The T was a bit tentative.

Hi Chrise.
Still not getting 6d! Only thing I can fit (trying not to give too much away) is 'a white' - a particular one from the Med, with unique flavour.

I can think of a few words that fit but none seem to be relevant to the clue.
Have I got something wrong?
