@ Stevea - I meant yours @26 (I think - the one about 'three
articles')
Sorry, not having a good day!

Hi everyone. An excellent turnout.

If my arithmetic is correct, there are 30 clues entered by 13 setters. With responses still awaited from 2 setters, namely Paul and busby, the position is:

Aristo (post 22): 3 votes
Aristo (post 11): 2 votes
Seamus (post 8): 2 votes
Steve (post 25), ixion (posts 28 & 29), mattrom (post 32): 1 vote each.

With the votes so widely spread, it’s all to play for. I’ll give it till around 9:00 pm and then draw a close.

Thanks for the correction, rossim. I meant mattrom@33.

Anyway, It's time to call it a night. The final position is:

Aristo (post 22): 3 votes
Aristo (post 11), Seamus (post 8) and Steve (post 25): 2 votes each
ixion (posts 28 & 29), mattrom (post 33): 1 vote each.

So, well done, Aristo (it was my favourite, too).

And the prize is a bit of Del Boy magic: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LFuYIi5-igc
(I feel sure I've given this before, in which case I offer no apology at all. It's a timeless classic and worthy of a second look)

Thanks to all for taking part.

Well done, aristo. Thanks, peterm. Thanks for the mention, pigale, and the votes, mattrom and busby.

Can someone parse the winner, please? I get that Merkel is a leader, but 'songs sung'?

"Lieder" (pronounced "leader") is German for "songs".
