Communication in a set of letters. 4 letters w?r?. Word or Wire?

Still not convinced, "Wire" communication by cable (telegram etc.)?
I'll take your advice and put "Word" and wait for next weeks solution!

I understand where you're coming from and at least one online grid has 'wire' as the solution (though he has been emailed about it).

A set of letters makes a 'Word' is how I am seeing it.
