45a How does "Loth to suggest something to read" produce "The Heart of Midlothian"?

It's a book by Walter Scott, so "something to read"

There is a book called "The Heart of Midlothian"
The word "loth" is the central part/heart of the word "Mid loth ian".
So "loth" suggests the something to read is "The Heart of Midlothian".

Merryphil, in the same crossword we had 'work', where the answer was a Shakespeare play - I think the Loth clue is much the same, equally valid!
