I have 12, 16 and the definition fits.
However, although I can see the nap bit I can't for the life of me see where dog fits in.

dog's are B****** and remove the r

'...or, put another way, if you put an r into the first word, it is what dogs are

So did everyone else just get 5a 3d? It was my last and I guessed 3d and so solved it. Some others had me eg 2d. 12 was first in

I didn't enjoy this one very much. I've completed it but solved several from half the clue and my crossers.
At the moment I can't be bothered with it any more.
I shall look at Fifteen Squared next week to see the full parsing.
