Thank you for the tip, I am now finished! But, unless I am missing something, the definition for N doesn’t make sense., yet from the crosser and WP, the answer has to be what I have written in.
How do you understand it?

I knew the definition part of K, but the wordplay (if there is any!) eludes me too.

However I do agree with Chrise that the surface is odd, but maybe that is sour grapes from me as I couldn't parse it...
That said, it was a really good puzzle that was tough enough for me to fritter away most of my morning when I should have been doing something more productive.

No help from me I’m afraid, as I can’t explain the K either in the wordplay.
