Thanks Stevie Gee , I would never realised the straight part was "say" for Enunciate. Quite a deceptive clue.

This looks like 'Keen on' = INTO + 'Bird' = RAVEN + America = US, but why does it refer to the 'West' of America?

12d Be brilliant or a little bit third-rate around the edges (11) - SCINTILLATE (Be brilliant)

Help appreciated with the parsing for this.

OK, I've figured out 12d (Scintilla + T(hird rat)E), but still don't know why 'West' precedes America in 49a.

49a As it's an across clue, West means to the left, so
INT RAVEN O is to the left of US
