27 a. Elbow exposed, good pokes (5)

Answer is Nudge, g in nude, but i wonder did anyone else have it originally as Barge, g in bare? Seems equally plausible to me.

I do not see nudge and barge as synonyms.

nudge - prod gently
barge - to move forcibly/roughly

Cerasus, I agree they are not synonyms; however "to elbow" could be gentle or rough so, in that sense, both answers are feasible

... but , obviously, only once answer fits the grid (I do not have the crossword)

I think it's pretty close, you get jostle under to elbow, to bump into under to barge. I was just interested in the (in my opinion) two possible answers, especially since i had the g already confirmed.

As Jazzgirl said, it is irrelevant anyway, as. with regard to the crossers, only one answer (nudge) will fit the grid.
