Finished, but one not fully parsed.

3d Boards having severe problem, scrub floors on ships (7)

I think I see how the "ships" fits my answer, but that leaves the first two letters unexplained. Any suggestions?

Ships could be the last 4 letters, after the last letters of 'severe problem scrub'

Just about exhausted my knowledge of the theme - just one with dark facial hair missing.

My cat (the one that prevents me from using Caps from time to time) is named after 1dn.

Is that because your cat catches one from time to time ?
I was hoping Gulliver would be there. I used to live in Lilliput (the one in Poole that is )

No, it was more his swashbuckling behaviour when he was a kitten. We did once find him trying to drag though the catflap a dead rabbit (not killed by him, we assume) that was about three times his size at the time.

Hi Jazzy
I was brought up in the Poole area and used to go to the Lilliput Sailing Club with a friend from time to time.
I also used to support Poole Pirates Speedway!

hi rossim
I used to go to the "Blue Lagoon" swimming pool and our favourite pub was the Beehive (both gone now )

My games teacher's parents used to run the Beehive if I remember rightly. It was a long time ago as she must be in her 90s now.
