Apropos 23d. ' Play back-to-front concert. (4)'
I already have P_O_ .
I'm thinking along the lines of walkway- but I can't parse it. Am I off track?

your (abbreviated) word for walkway is also the name of a type of concert.
It's a word for 'to play' with the last letter moving to the start.

See post #2!
I found this the easiest Guardian prize for a long time but that clue was the last in for me too.

Me too although I did need to google a couple.
There were very few requests for help this week.
I wasn't 100% happy with the surface readings for 21a and 21d though.
