I need some reassurance! Is anyone else finding this impossible? I've been looking at it off and on all morning and have only 9 definites, a possible, and a "half possible". Usually I've finished in under an hour.

I may be back for some hints!

Hi Chris. I have great difficulty today. I have managed 12 so far - of which 11 are "certain".

I have been at this since early morning I have probably got the same answers as you! the rest are totally hopeless! just about to give up.

Immediately I posted I got one more, then 4 more followed. Stalled again now, though!

mmmm......Nobody likes a smart a**e but I found it straightforward. I tend to find Paul quite light as nowadays he keeps clear of classical lit. mostly. The only one I had to check was 26a.

Chrise it doesn't start with a W. As for a hint, vessel is the def. A very English type of vessel.
