Some books are neatly stacked upright on a table, the spines and non spines alternating. You count 11 spines on one side of the table. When you go to the other side of the table you count 11 non spines. What is the maximum number of books there can be in the stack?

22 1 think. The 11 spines on one side are the same books as the 11 non spines on the other side.
Put a book underneath each of these plus 1 on top

which,of course, adds up to 23. Doh!
