Hi still can't get it. Perhaps I can go for a hint for 18d. Fish, small fish.

It seems obvious - one fish starting with S followed by another word meaning fish. But I can't think of the answer.

Hi Chrise
Just had a break, but no further. What does LOI mean? I can't believe I can't finish with all the hints I have. Something must be wrong somewhere.

And now the cat has settled on the paper.

Thanks Mamya
I must be really dim today. I think I have found my star shape beginning with P, but the only Kent seaside towns of 7 letters I know are Margate and Chatham, neither of which fit into my answer or the crossers I've got.
I haven't got 20d and am not sure of my answer to 25d, all of which doesn't help.

Thanks Zozozo

I already knew she is from Margate, but it hasn't helped me to find the answer. I now have P?N?A?n??. I think the second n might be wrong. Either way I can't see a way of getting the seaside town in. Perhaps you had better put me out of my misery and give me the answer.
