I'm struggling with 2, 22ac,16. Junk TV harm: people wait to gain acceptance (4,4,8). Could someone tell me what the definition is?

I've finished it all and I'm sure I have the right answer for 14a.
My answer fits the first part of the clue but I'm having trouble parsing 'fine lines'.
Someone please enlighten me.

Fine crossed lines are used by draftsmen in the form known as cross hatching
