I have twelve left, all thematic ones. Any suggestions?

I've finished but don't really see theme so can't give any hints, sorry. Some of the clueing is pretty loose to say the least!

One of those puzzles where sometimes you just can't see the wood for the trees.

Have to disagree on the cluing - it all seems pretty tight to me . . . once you've cracked the code. In fact I thought it an excellent prize crossie.

Sorry but I'm in the loose cluing camp - a bit like pulling teeth for me, I'm afraid. Two thirds complete (including several of the 12 'themed') but losing interest rapidly. Too much else to do today to spend any more time on it.

I'm just curious- I'm a birdwatcher so know Bonxie is the Great Skua, a bird with which you do not want much acquaintance if another bird!
Can someone just satisfy my curiosity as to why a crossword is called that?

Bonxie is the setter.

Bonxie is the setter of this crossword. He lives with his family in Taunton and is often to been found on the Somerset Levels, watching birds and seeking inspiration

Thank you mamya and jazzgirl. I can thnk of nicer birds to be named after, but bonxie is a nice word!

I can only find 11 of the theme words (though I don't see where the first three letters of my 21a come from, and I may have this wrong). Are there 12, in fact, or is it another Grauniad error?
