Looks like NINE MENS MORRIS.

I thought five and nine but couldnt make sense of the answer?? Is that an expression or known phrase?

Hi Helen, nine men's morris is an ancient board game from the Roman Empire (thanks Google, not brainpower!).

It's a very old board game; I think it's similar to noughts and crosses

Have just returned to the site Helen,and wish to apologise for not giving you my reasoning for my answer of NINE MENS MORRIS.
Morris is an abbreviation of Morris Dancing which is a routine dance.
The whole answer is a very old game which I remember playing as a child before TV took over all our lives!
