I've just noticed that I haven't parsed the second word of 9,26. There seem to be too many words in the clue for the letters needed!

I had trouble parsing 26ac as well - the answer was obvious of course, but I couldn't see why; then I twigged that the last 2 letters were the name of a rock band minus E(nergy.) So I checked for the first 2 and found this:
