I don't believe there is an expression "a yellow fish" to mean what the definition needs to be.

16A I really do think the 'o' is an error - that's Italian spelling. I've been there many times, never seen anything but 'u' ...

If you Google, you will find the U is a substantial majority (indeed, Google prefers to search for it); however there is a significant number of hits for the O too.

To be honest, I thought that O was the correct spelling - but I've never been there!

My Google search immediately corrects the 'O' to a 'U'.

You can override that and find O spellings, though, mamya.

I can't show you a link here without giving the answer, though.

I can find sites that show the 'O' but basically it's not right.

I suppose I'm influenced by being able to speak Italian, but not Portuguese!

I'm just digging my heels in as I didn't care for the puzzle as a whole ;-)
