Am I really the first to post this week? On Sunday morning? That can only be because this puzzle was so easy that nobody needs any help with it!

In fact, neither do I, except that I'm niggled by the wordplay in 18. The 'grunts' are infantrymen, fair enough. But what do 'fish' and a 'river going west' have to do with the grid entry TERTA?

And what does the title mean?

Sorry, I'll try again! The tropical fish is a TETRA, with the R moving to the west.

Thanks, Gitto. I wouldn't have managed to work that out for myself.

I may be completely wrong, but the title makes thematic sense if you break it after the second letter.

I hate when people say a Listener crossword was easy. It either removes my sense of self-congratulation or makes me feel stupid ;).

Anyway, I have a completed grid, but a minor query about 29A. Is Tangram really using 'up' as an anagram indicator?

Seen it used in various crosswords over past year. Pressume it suggests the meaning 'amiss' instead over the usual 'reversal down'.

I seem to be in a small minority, having found this puzzle quite difficult. I have now completed it but I have been unable to figure out the wordplay for 28 down (where there seems to be too much clue) and 23 down (too little clue). I'm sure I'll realise my stupidity but I have been gazing at both without any pennies dropping.

I too would appreciate an explanation of 28d. The other one puzzling me was 18a, so I'm pleased to have that one cleared up.
