You went wrong with the L! The answer is Diminish, diet. It's 'I'm In' , expect me, inside Dish/food.

Is there such a thing as a Charwood Forest then? I could only find Charcoal (hence the L).

Yes it was Sherwood Forest

only just seen that 27dn (Do for trees and show ruïned lot of trees 8,6) was an anagram. I had read it as 'do for' = char, and the 'ruïned lot of trees' became a Charcoal Forest! Thanks again.
