Thank you. I had not got the answer to 8dn, 'Slap a person's head, showing resolve', (4,2,4,4) quite right, because I could not and cannot understand 'Slap'. The answer can only be MAKE UP ONES MIND of course.

Slap is a slang word for Make Up/cosmetics.

That is a gap filled.

Chambers defines it as 'stage make up' but it's used more generally now - not by me!
