Help please if possible with a bit of the bottom half of today's puzzle. I get the phrase and what to alter but am stuck on 32d, the letter needed for 28d (although I have the answer I can't see what to change) and am unsure about 25d.
Clue 32d reads "in approach this old side would be irresistible (4) (one letter misprint in definition) I have ?ELL.

and 25 refers to an elephant

My change is in the third word in the clue.

That's my trouble. I know what the answer is but not how to change the third word.

Spite becomes SpiNe.
