Presumably "in -off"?
but explanation needed please?

If it's "batting side" Elle then they are "in" and the two sides of the cricket ground are known as the on and the off side.

In off is the term for a shot at billiards.

Yes, Andy I should have put "bAtting" (as Mamya said)
