Next week's came yesterday, because of Bank Holiday - you were lucky to get yours on Monday!

8 is a term from Olympic rowing - partial anagram
5 is a hidden
6 I associated the "leader" with Persia rather than Turkey; 2 letter word for "elected" amongst many other meanings.

I misread the clue, was looking for a boat rather than a
language. I still don't think Spanish is synonymous with
Catalan. Excuses, excuses.
