14a I have b*k*d and answer must be 'baked' as from 'dried off' but I cannot for the life of me see the cryptic derivation.
BTW I think 13a is one of the most smile inducing clues I've seen for a while. Very clever to fit that in!

Yes many thanks.
Not often one cannot parse having concluded the solution.
What was stopping my lateral thinking was a total failure to separate 'dried' and 'off' in this case.

Just a comment really ....
I originally had 'three-master' for 55a before an 'e' in 'imbalance' forced a rethink.
I thought these clues were supposed to have unique solutions? 'Tree master' for 'lumberjack' works just as well as 'tree decker'.
Was I alone in this?

I take your point but to my mind when I think of a lumberjack I imagine him decking ie chopping down a tree rather than mastering it.
