10 d: '31days in France and Spain for the dance'
I have ?A?I?E
And I need to include 2 'X's in the answer.
Is it possible?

You've explained why I'm struggling in the NE - I had MORRIS for 10d, and was quite happy with it!

Yrwered, your two Xs are possible. Not a word I'd ever heard before. You need the French name of a month plus abbreviation for Spain. I would appreciate hints for 54 and 56 across please.

56 I don't think works. I have an anagram of CORD + the V part of CV, but this is actually incorrectly spelled.

I've an answer to 54 too, but haven't parsed it.

Thanks -that sounds as if we're having the same problem with 56. Do you have 54 starting with O?

No, I'm pretty sure 54 starts with E

It does begin with e and the clued part of the solution is a word indicating lack of problem/difficulty

In 56 vita is contained in the solution rather than cv

That's what I have for 54, but it's sloppy too - the word for "no problem" should end in Y.

Can anyone give me a hint for 23d, please?
