Although I've nearly finished, I'm not enjoying this - too many pencilled in unparsed. However I've ground to a halt in the NE, and need a hint to get going again.

12a Makes number listeners must take in (5)

I've put EIGHT (sounds like ATE), but I'm worried as I think the third letter should be R. Is either of these ideas right?

Me too. I think "long" is ITCH, IN is "home" and G from Good, but why theatrical, and where does the ST come from?

24d is just wrong! (Look at coloured light on gallery (6)

You've shown a 10 letter count. Should be 9.

10A - I had S?I?C?ING & assume answer is ST (ITCH) IN (G) i.e theatrical closure. 'Way' ST, 'home' IN with 'long' ITCH then 'good' G. A bit convoluted though!
