A couple where I have answers but can't FULLY parse the cryptic bit!
23A "Jilted girls, maybe, used by posh-talking fellers?" (4). I assume answer is "Exes" (jilted girls, maybe), but how does second half of clue fit in?
40A "English football club that's stuck with bill reduced male talent" (8). Answer is "Beefcake" (Male talent). Can see "efc" for English F.C., but if bill is "beak", why is it around "efc" and where does the last "e" come from?

Posh-talking fellers (of trees!) would say 'Exes' rather than 'Axes', which they'd be using ('used by' in the clue).

(i.e. how a posh tree feller would pronounce "axes")

Does the E come from reduced male (hE)?

Elle's reasoning is what I saw on another place, beaked = stuck in, then shortened/reduced.

Hi elle, your post wasn't there when I started typing (slowly with 1 finger).
