Hi all.

With due deference to tempo = pace. I suspect a lack of general knowledge on my part here...

Church conservationsists make money = -E-T. Cent? Why?

Many thanks.

Pace (two syllables) is the ablative of pax, peace and means with due deference.

Pace (1 syllable) = tempo, speed

Hi Pooks,

For the first one, Pace means peace in Latin, but also means 'with due deference' -- usually when you're about to disagree with someone.
