Thanks chrisg and jazzgirl. I really have no excuse for not getting it as it is in the "Scrabble Dictionary" which is useful for short words, but it is not listed in the "quick solve" words on this site.

Thanks jazzy and chrisg - I wasn't fully convinced about 1d either. The "ing" ending I'm familiar with, but not so much without the "ing".

I find jazz music is best enjoyed late at night and after a certain amount of alcoholic relaxation. This doesn't really mix with cars.
