48 down
Agitation is far from controlled when getting rained off (6)

I've put UNREST, simply because it's a synonym of agitation, but can someone please advise me how the clue works out.

38 down - the clue is: Losing their heads, group of solders argue at length in court. (10)

As the answer seems to be QUADRANGLE, shouldn't the word be "soldiers"?

48 Unrest(rained(. Unrestrained = far from controlled, then take the 'rained' off.

28 Squad + Wrangle, removing the heads gives Quad and Rangle.

Dragonfly, I forgot about your 'solders', 'soldiers' query. I've no longer got the paper, so can't check what was there - but I don't remember noticing anything amiss yesterday.

Thanks Mamya and Malone.

It definitely says "solders" in our copy of the paper. Initially I wondered what a group of solders was called!
